Microwave Tangerine Garlic Broccoli Serves 4
1 head fresh broccoli, cut into florets
1/8 cup water (really, a splash)
1 tablespoon olive oil (used bacon grease; it was handy)
1/2 tablespoon tangerine or orange juice
1 garlic clove, minced or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt (used splash of soy sauce)
Microwave broccoli and water in covered bowl on high for 6 minutes or til crisp tender. While it is cooking mix the rest of the ingredients together. Drain cooked broccoli. Pour tamgerome garlic mixture over broccoli and mix to coat. If using fresh garlic cover the dish and let sit for about 2 minutes. If using garlic powder you are ready to serve.
